In the late 1970s, I completed several college courses before I went back to work.
During those years, I managed to complete these paintings using family photographs as a model.

16 x 20 oil on canvas, 1980
I created this painting of my daughter Susan, using an old photo of her as a model. The background is one that I imagined.
Even though the tree branch appears slightly disconnected, and the image a bit awkward, I enjoy the painting.
I think it is somewhat funny in a quirky way.
Noreen at Quincy Market in Boston, 1977

24 x 20 oil on canvas
My older brother, who enjoyed many years of sailing to the Islands on Massachusetts Bay, also enjoyed photography.
The two paintings shown below originated from photos that he gave to me.

9 x 12 oil on canvas, 1980

12 x 18 oil on canvas, 1984

9 x 12 acrylic on canvas, 2003
This painting is derived from a photo that I took in 1987, when I lived in Massachusetts.
